Kennywood

About the Park:

Carved into the mountainside above the Monongahela River, Kennywood has been serving Pittsburghers since 1898. Over the years, the park has adopted several slogans to describe itself: among them, "Roller Coaster Capital of the World." (The park has operated 12 throughout its history and currently operates four: three woodies and the Steel Phantom) and "America's Finest Traditional Amusement Park." Both slogans convey the park's concerted efforts to preserve older rides and attractions while building new ones to keep the park interesting and competitive in a market that thrives on the newest, tallest and fastest.
